The Institute for Indian Mother & Child (IIMC) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1989 by Dr. Sujit Kumar Brahmochary to provide primary health care and education to people experiencing poverty in West Bengal, especially women and children.
Sujit, after getting a medical degree in Europe, started going from village to village to provide health assistance to women and children who could not get to the hospitals or clinics in the far away city.
Today the organisation has increased its activities and includes, besides medical assistance, an education program, a women empowerment program and a microcredit program.
SIT supports this social entrepreneurial project conveying donations and contributing to specific projects with our own volunteers and experts. For example, with studies on the microcredit program, designing of solar panels and education activities.
